Tour description: The tour starts in the morning, at a mutually agreed time and we will visit:

• Neamt Fortress – The Neamt Fortress is one of the most impressive fortresses in Romania and is located in the northern part of the country. The Neamt Fortress was part of the fortifications system built in Moldova at the end of the 14th century, for defending against the Ottomans. The Neamt fortress hides many interesting stories about the glorious history of Moldova!
• Agapia Monastery – Agapia Monastery is the only Orthodox monastic settlement in Romania that is called “Christian Love”, coming from the Greek “Agapis”. Throughout the centuries, the Agapia Monastery has suffered numerous robberies, destructions and fires, but has always been rebuilt and consolidated. The famous painter Nicolae Grigorescu, who painted the interior of the church, contributed to the beauty of the monastery.
• Varatec Monastery – Varatec Monastery is one of the largest and most visited Orthodox monasteries in the area. It is located near the Monastery of Agapia, so it can be reached very easily by car.
• Neamt Monastery – At 12 Km, northwest of the famous Neamt Fortress, in a wide open glade in the valley of a small river, surrounded almost all the sides of the forested heights, there is the Neamt Monastery, “Jerusalem of Roman Orthodoxy”. Interestingly, there are no historical sources that accurately determine the time and circumstances in which the monastery was built. There are many legends you deserve to hear.

Note: The monasteries in the Neamt area are different in comparison with painted monasteries of Bucovina: through architecture, painting, history. However, each monastery has its own beauty and is one of the Romanian tourist pearls.
